San Diego Gives Voice And Donations To Animals In Need
This past Saturday, Papitto Properties hosted “Afternoon for Animals 2011” to raise money and awareness for the Animal Protection & Rescue League (APRL). Attended by more than 60 animal rights supporters, the fundraiser was a tremendous success. Jerry Cesak, of San Diego’s “Jeff & Jer Showgram,” was the keynote speaker, and he spoke passionately and emotionally about his renewed dedication to the prevention of animal cruelty.
Jerry, a long-time supporter of animal rights, was re-inspired by the remarkable work of APRL’s Program Director Kath Rogers and her husband Bryan Pease, an attorney who has worked tirelessly to keep the La Jolla Cove seals safe. Together, the couple was instrumental in getting Prop 2 passed in 2008 to become the “Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act.” In fact, Prop 2 got the highest percentage of voter approval of any proposition on the ballot that year and has served as a model for other states.
Marisa Papitto and Dustine Gallagher were honored to share their home with such wonderful people on such a memorable day.
